Hear the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Forest Lawn

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Memorial Day is traditionally a day when thousands would flock to parades and ceremonies to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  This year is different as we emerge from a coronavirus state of quarantine and are restricted in numbers that can attend events,

Most formal ceremonies and commemorations have been canceled as social distancing guidelines still allow for only groups of up to ten people to gather.

There is one Memorial Day tradition in Buffalo that will live-on, virtually.  The annual American Legion ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery will air twice on WBEN at 11:45am and 5:45pm and you can here it here on-demand.

Forest Lawn is honored to care for tens of thousands of United States veterans who bravely served our nation and defended our freedom in every major military conflict, and now rest within its gates.

Each year on Memorial Day, Forest Lawn proudly salutes these heroes during the annual Erie County American Legion Memorial Day ceremony and decorate the graves of our beloved veterans.
