18 Years Of Sum 41's "Fatlip"

"Fatlip" Turns 18

May 2, 2019

It occurred to me today that Sum 41's "Fat Lip" turned 18 years old without us noticing on April 22nd. First released in 2001 it was written a year prior in 2000, topping US, Canada, Scotland and UK Modern Rock charts and is still the bands most successful hit. The song was produced by Jerry Finn who also worked on Blink182's "Enema of the State." You can't go wrong with songs about teenage angst again modernity in the suburbs!
That same year on October 6th, Sum 41 was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live hosted by Seann William Scott and YES I unearth the receipts! Check out the bands performance here at (29:10):

The music video for "Fat Lip" was also a popular play on MTV's Total Request Live. It was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for "Best New Artist In Video."  Check it out if it's been awhile:

Eighteen years and now seven albums under their belt, which the seventh will be released July 19th, 2019. Check out "Out for Blood" their newest song coming off of the upcoming "Order In Decline" on Alternative Buffalo with Axe's The Underground Collective and here:
