Axe: Kerfuffle Recap: My Day at Kerfuffle

June 27, 2019

Kerfuffle is in the books and what an amazing show it was! Because there is SO MUCH happening, in every corner of the venue, everyone's experience is unique so I thought I'd share what my day was like. It started around 11am with set up at the venue before the gates opened. I also took a walk around the grounds to check it all out.

The stage look ready for action

Right next to the stage was the Beer Garden. A prime location for those in GA as you had tables and chairs, tree cover for shade and a perfect view to the stage

The view from VIP wasn't too shabby either

I wasn't scheduled to be on-air until 3pm, so when the gates opened at 2pm, I decided to stay close to the VIP tent and broadcast area to watch Nik and Kennedy interview Matt Maeson. I even got a pic with him!

Then it was time to go on-air with Emily and Shannon

During our hour and a half shift, we got to interview Atlas Genius, Bishop Briggs and Catfish and The Bottlemen. I even managed to sneak away for a pic with Atlas Genius

Then, after the broadcast it was time for stage announcements. I got to introduce Atlas Genius, Bishop Briggs and Catfish and The Bottlemen back-to-back-to-back so I spent a lot of time side stage watching their sets

Atlas Genius brought the energy from the very beginning of their set

Bishop Briggs started her set standing completely still center stage.

But that didn't last long. She was a ball of energy during her set. She was literally running ALL OVER the stage and even in place at times. was tired after watching her!

Catfish had been on my bucket list for sometime now and I was SO GLAD to be able to cross them off. And, they did NOT disappoint! They were pure rock and energy from the first note

Then it was back over to the VIP Tent where we had transformed the broadcast area into a stage for the surprise acoustic set with New Politics. I've known New Politics now for about 9 years and they are some of the nicest guys I've ever met and they were beyond excited to come surprise the #AltFamily the way they did. They ripped through stripped down versions of all the hits and had the crowd bouncing along. (Also, thank you to 27K Photography for getting great pics of EVERYTHING that was going on. The New Politics acoustic set was the one thing I saw that I didn't get a picture of. I was just too wrapped up in moment!)

Then it was back to the main stage to take off The Head and The Heart after their amazing performance

Finally, before Walk The Moon took the stage to close out the night, we had our traditional staff photo

And a tradition of my own. I always snap a panoramic shot of the crowd. To look out and see 10,000 people leaves me speechless everytime

So that was my day in a nutshell. It was long but amazing! The bands, the crowd, the staff and everyone else there made it one to remember! #Kerfuffle
