Tool Breaks Rock Record Set by Twenty One Pilots

‘Fear Inoculum’ continues to take down the competition

September 17, 2019

Numbers don’t lie, Tool has released one of the biggest albums of the year.

Not only has Fear Inoculum quenched the thirst of fans after 13 years, it is also setting some impressive marks on the charts, pushing the band past some of the most accomplished artists in music.

Last week, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard album chart, with Maynard James Keenan celebrating with a Thanos-sized troll of Taylor Swift. The album knocked Swift’s Lover from the top spot, ending her reign after only one frame. This week it’s the world of Rock, with Tool dominating the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart.

There are 10 tracks on Fear Inoculum, comprised of 7 songs and 3 interludes. Of those 10 tracks, 6 have made it into the Rock Songs top 10. That’s got to be some kind of record right? It is!

The record was previously held by Twenty One Pilots, who landed 5 songs in the top 10 after the release of their album Trench in October. Fans flooded the chart with songs after the LP debuted, helping the band to set the mark. Now 10 months later, Tool has set the new standard for Rock success.
