Matt Healy Shares What The 1975's New Album Will Sound Like

Looking ahead backstage at KROQ's 'Almost Acoustic Christmas'

December 9, 2019

Matt Healy from The 1975 sat down with Nicole Alvarez of RADIO.COM's KROQ at Almost Acoustic Christmas this weekend, to talk about the band's upcoming album, working with Greta Thunberg, and more.

Matt touches on how releasing back to back albums gives you a loss of of finality because you get addicted to the routine of work, release, and wait for reaction. He also says the most important thing about quickly adapting to fame is to continue to be honest. "If you don't lie you don't have to think about what you have to say," he explained.

With a change in sound with songs like "People" influenced by the band members punk influences, Matt reveals the new album has some Country vibes and is very "guitar."
